Maui Moisture Hair Products Review: My Honest Opinion

This post contains affiliate links so we can bring you awesome products

Do you have a place where all tried products go to die? My bathroom closet is filled with health and beauty products I have tried and didn’t deliver what they promised but being a follower of frugal living, I can’t bring myself to throw them out. But of course┬áthat isn’t frugal living at all, it’s wasting my hard earned moolah.

For that reason alone I decided to pick up the review torch and start this new series where I will review products every week and give my honest opinion. I know many times when I am going to buy something I will check out the reviews. Hopefully, this makes it easier for you to buy products you will honestly use. As an Amazon Affiliate, I am also in the unique position to find you the products at great prices. Ok on with the review!

Who Is Maui Moisture?

This product line is new to me and I am unsure how long they have been around. Maui Moisture is a line of haircare products that are Gluten-Free, Sulfate-Free, Paraben-Free, Silicone-Free, Vegan and Eco-Friendly. So maybe you’re asking yourself “Well what is in it then?” There is a whole list of awesomeness in these products which include ingredients like Coconut Oil, Coconut Water, Papaya Butter to name a few.

Most shampoos are made with chemically treated water, did you know that? I didn’t and Maui Moisture uses a mix of Coconut Water and Aloe Vera Juice. It doesn’t get more natural than that and it’s 100 percent pure.

Why You Should Stay Away From Sulfates

Most of us are somewhat aware of what sulfates are by now. Some of the names you might recognize are SLS and SLES. You will find them in shampoos, toothpaste, and soaps. It creates the foam that we associate with being clean but in fact, it is a lie! That foam is pure chemicals. It has taken me time to adjust to that fact alone.

Sulfates just aren’t good for your hair period. It can dry your hair and strip the color. If that isn’t enough reason to change Sulfates can also cause allergic reactions. More and more people are moving away from products pushed on us by big business that just isn’t good for us.

Here’s What I Really Think About Maui Moisture

The truth about my hair is it is DIFFICULT, you might look at it in pictures and think oh it’s so pretty. Let me tell you that takes work! I have curly/wavy hair that is naturally frizzy. It was one of the main reasons I turned to Sulfate-Free Shampoos, that and I regularly torture it with hair color. I refuse to be ordinary! Well, and gray.

I admit the packaging on Maui Moisture was what caught my eye and I’m glad it did. I tried the Maui Moisture Curl Quench which is infused with Coconut Oil, Papaya Butter, and Plumeria Extract. What did I think? A-Maz-Zing

My hair was softer, smoother and easier to style. What I really loved was the smell and it is super light. Sometimes with products that have a lot of moisture in them especially oils, it can feel weighed down. All of their products are under $20 dollars. I will admit this was more than I usually spend for shampoo but the trade off is great hair.
